



According to her, traditional social and political theories ignored inequalities and oppression in gender field and failed to include them in political theory. Yet, in Wollstonecraft's writings, it is possible to see analysis and arguments that go beyond these ideas. Her arguments are generally placed in 'liberal feminism' of feminist thought traditions. Ideational roots of feminism and women's movement extend to the works of Wollstonecraft. In this respect, Wollstonecraft's thoughts and ideas have been accepted as the foundations of modern feminism and their actuality still continues. Her analysis about the French Revolution is also reflecting these differences. She had a unique position with her interest in women rights and with her criticism about women rights although she agreed in many ways with the thinkers of the era who were considered " liberal " in human rights. The position of Mary Wollstonecraft-by differing from other thinkers'-has become an interesting one. This article focuses on the philosophical, social and political ideas of Mary Wollstonecraft (1759-1797) who has a distinguished position in the history of political thoughts.
